V2G Clarity is now Switch

We are now called Switch!

Today, I have an exciting announcement that I've been wanting to share with you for weeks.

Five years ago, I started as a freelancing e-mobility consultant specialising in future-proof communication standards. This was to help companies around the globe better understand ISO 15118, in order to bring the user-friendly and seamless Plug & Charge experience to market.

Last year, I decided to take matters into my own hands and establish a limited company in London. I hired very  talented electronics engineers, software developers, and designers to help me build the much-needed software solutions that the industry was lacking.

Today, I’m proud to present to you our new brand: Switch.

We’re building the most reliable, innovative, and easy-to-use software ecosystem for charging electric vehicles, so that shifting the world to a greener way of moving will only be a simple switch.

Here’s what we’ve been working on recently and what we’ll launch during the course of this year.

Josev –– Joint Operating System for seamless EV charging

Josev is the brain of the charging station. A flexible and open operating system that finally makes it easy for EV charger manufacturers to comply with ever-evolving industry standards such as OCPP 2.0.1 and ISO 15118. The clue is in the name: it makes sure that everything is running seamlessly.

Sara –– Station Analytics and Remote Administration

We build Sara to make managing and monitoring charging points easier and more effective. Sara gathers valuable, intelligent, and accurate data, which gives you the most up-to-date information on your network and allows you to run it smoothly. Its user-centric design allows you to easily harness the full monitoring and management capabilities of OCPP 2.0.1 and ISO 15118.

Switch, our new company name

With Switch, we continue to educate, and with open source versions of our technology, we inspire innovation within the industry so we can get there quicker, together. Because we believe that by making things as simple and seamless as possible, we can accelerate the switch to a greener world – and protect this wonderful planet of ours, before it’s too late. With Switch Clarity, we offer in-depth articles, industry news, monthly Ask Me Anything (AMA) webinars, infos about upcoming industry events and - of course - the popular ISO 15118 Manual

We’re here to make seamless EV charging finally happen and to accelerate the switch to electric vehicles. So we’re inviting you to join us on this journey, whether you’re  a follower of our newsletters, a development partner, or customers of Josev, Scotti, or Sara. Together, we can make the change happen.

I’m personally looking forward to meeting you again in person, starting in September, when I’ll be attending the Hubject ICNC 21 and the CharIN Testival in Germany, hosted by comemso. Hope to see you there!

Since we have published our ISO 15118 Manual it has been purchased by the biggest names in our industry and has become standard literature.

as well as Daimler, Porsche, Shell, Tritium, and many more...

As we were intensively implementing and testing
ISO 15118, we noticed there was a lack of overview of Plug & Charge and the whole supply chain amongst
our stakeholders.

Our training with Marc helped us achieve a much better understanding of the whole ecosystem. It led to constructive discussions on the requirements and concept of ISO 15118 in general.

Angelika Neuleitner,

charging system Specialist at Ionity

Working with recognized standards is the right way forward for the integration of electric vehicles into the grid, and we value Switch’s strong experience with the ISO 15118 standard.

We were able to leverage Marc’s insights to corner some of the keys issues pertinent to V2G in the published standard that needed to be addressed.

Hamza Lemsaddek,

Director embedded solutions at Nuvve Corporation

Attending Switch’s intensive two day training with the team gave us a deep dive into ISO 15118 and the different use cases.

We were able to validate our design with regards to the ecosystem and beyond. We now have a head start for the development of our next generation chargers and are able to support our customers for the deployment of the equipment all over Europe.

Johan Devos,

business development Manager at ENOvates

Certificate handling in ISO 15118 is a quite complex issue. Marc’s well prepared one-day course on this topic and his deep knowledge helped us to train our team and speed up the development of the ISO 15118 Plug & Charge
charging controller.

Johannes Bergmann,

eMobility Charging Systems DEVELOPER at SIEMENS AG

When I was working with students on ISO 15118 projects, Marc's courses tremendously helped in getting students to understand the standard quickly and dive into coding without hesitation. Marc's crystal-clear explanations with eye-catching graphics will make you an EV charging expert in one week.

Minho Shin,

Professor at Myongji University

In two exciting training days, Marc quickly and effectively explained ISO15118 communication to our experienced development team. In addition to the in-depth technical knowledge, the information about the communication standards that are still being established is very valuable. The training will definitely help us to make the implementation more effective.

Reinhard Starzinger,

Project Manager Electric Mobility AT Keba AG
