Scotti

Our Simple Compliance Testing Tool for Interoperability is an easy-to-use compliance tester for the most advanced charger management protocols (OCPP 2.0.1 and newer).

The trust is in the testing

Scotti tests and verifies the compliance of your software (both on charging stations and the  CSMSs)  with the most advanced communication protocols – OCPP 2.0.1 and newer. This helps you to significantly improve communications between your software and its counterpart (be it a charging station or a CSMS), as well as boost interoperability across the charging network.

Vetted by Scotti

Scotti supports all certification profiles, as defined by the  OCA

This means that once Scotti verifies that you’ve passed all selected test cases, we can guarantee that you’ll get an official OCA certificate that accredites your compliance with OCPP 2.0.1.

Core: the entry level certification

The minimum required for your software to be able to properly orchestrate a charging session with Charging Stations or CSMS (depending which side you’re on).

It covers:

  • Basic security use cases
  • Provisioning use cases
  • Basic authorisation options (not Plug & Charge)
  • Transaction handling
  • Remote control
  • Notifying and changing the charger availability
  • Meter values handling
  • Secure firmware update
  • Basic certificate management
  • Logging and monitoring events
  • Data transfer (a generic data container to transmit all kinds of data not defined in the OCPP 2.0.1 specification)

Advanced Security

Creates a secure communication channel between the CSMS and the charging station. It covers the update of charging station certificates, either triggered by the CSMS or the station itself.

Smart Charging

Covers all use cases related to load balancing and smart charging. It influences the EV’s charging behaviour to align with the driver’s mobility needs, the availability of renewable energy, and the load situation of the local grid.

Reservation

Covers everything related to reserving and cancelling charging stations appointments – so that you can always make sure a charger is free when a driver arrives.

ISO 15118 Support

Test cases to offer support on installing and updating contract certificates via the charging station, to support ISO 15118’s user-friendly Plug & Charge feature. It also covers support for ISO 15118 specific smart charging profiles, and charging station certificates management.

Local Authorisation

Covers the management of the authorisation cache and the local authorisation list to be able to authorise offline.

Advanced Device Management

Reports the charging station’s functionalities, by allowing you to set monitors on various components, such as temperature sensors. This way, as the operator, you can get an in-depth overview of each component.

Advanced UI

Shows the EV driver their specific tariff information and running costs – before, during and after a running charging session on the charger’s display. Additional support for (language) specific messages on the display is also part of these test cases.

How Scotti makes your life easier

Easy compliance testing

With Scotti, you can easily test the compliance of your charging stations and CSMS, with the latest OCPP communication protocols (OCPP 2.0.1 and newer).

All-level certification

With various types of certification profiles, Scotti can facilitate certification for a wide range of chargers, from simple wallboxes to public high-power chargers.

Tenders-ready

Having an OCPP 2.x certification means you can easily and successfully apply for new tenders at big municipalities and companies. Scotti is the first to market that can do this.

Reliable implementations

Scotti further facilitates reliability and interoperability across the e-mobility industry, and reduces faulty implementations

Drive up your sales

By helping you easily test your stations’ compliance with the latest communication standards, we improve the software quality and help you receive certification, which in turn, drives up charger sales.

Improve the engineering process

By sharing test results and debugging information within teams, Scotti helps to improve and develop your engineering process.

Seamless integration

If your products are vetted by Scotti,  it will guarantee better, more seamless integration with different CSMS.

Drive up your sales

By helping you easily test your software’s compliance with the latest communication standards, we help you receive certification and drive up sales.

Improve the engineering process

By sharing test results and debugging information within teams, Scotti helps to improve and develop your engineering process.

Seamless integration

Scotti guarantees seamless integration with different chargers as long as these chargers comply to the official OCPP 2.0.1 (and newer) specification.

Perfect your Plug & Charge

Scotti makes sure that the Plug & Charge functionality is working perfectly. This puts you in a perfect place to engage in roaming agreements with mobility service providers who want to offer their EV drivers a hassle-free way of charging.

Test before you buy

To guarantee smooth operation of the charger network before any errors occur, you can test new charging stations before buying and onboarding.

Sara stands for Station Analytics and Remote Administration

OCA
DEF:
Open charge alliance

The Open Charge Alliance is the official body that specifies OCPP 2.0.1 and defines a set of certification profiles. Each profile tests a certain set of functionalities. Depending on the functionality of your charger or CSMS, you might want to certify for either a subset or all of these profiles.

EXI
DEF:
Efficient XML Interchange (EXI)

Efficient XML Interchange (EXI) is a very compact representation of XML. All ISO 15118 messages are defined in XML. EXI improves serialisation and parsing speed on embedded devices (like an EV and a charging station controller) and allows more efficient use of memory and battery life, compared to standard (textual) XML.

MQTT
DEF:
Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT)

The Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) is a lightweight, publish-subscribe network protocol that transports messages between devices.

CSMS
DEF:
Charging Station Management System (CSMS)

A Charging Station Management System (CSMS) helps you monitor, maintain, and control your charger network.

ACD-P
DEF:
Automated Connection Device (ACD)

Automated Connection Device (ACD), a conductive charging concept that doesn't require a person to plug in the charging cable. A first implementation is ACD-P, where 'P' stands for 'pantograph' charging of buses.

PLC
DEF:
Power line communication (PLC)

Power line communication, a communication technology that enables sending data over existing power cables.

SLAC
DEF:
Signal Level Attenuation Characterisation (SLAC)

Signal Level Attenuation Characterisation (SLAC) is based on power line communication (specifically HomePlug Green PHY) and is a protocol to establish the data link between the EV and the charging station via the charging cable.

CPO
DEF:
Charge Point Operator (CPO)

Charge Point Operator, the entity monitoring and managing an EV charger network.
